Career
Pierre Rolland drove at the end of the 2006 season with the French UCI ProTeam Crédit Agricole as a trainee and received a professional contract there the following year. He as one of the French cycling hopes for the future and confirmed his qualities as a climber by winning the mountain classification Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré in 2008 .
At the beginning of the 2009 season, after the breakup of the Crédit Agricole team, Rolland moved to the French ProTeam Bbox Bouygues Télécom , which was later called Team Europcar . In the 2012 Tour de France , Rolland won the 11th stage to La Toussuire after he had pulled away from an early-formed leading group eleven kilometers before the mountain finish and was in the end eighth overall. At the Critérium du Dauphiné 2013, Rolland and his team were criticized because a suspicious cortisone value was measured during a health check of the Mouvement Pour un Cyclisme Crédible (MPCC) , which can be an indication of doping or health problems and according to the voluntary rules of the MPCC teams self-suspension for eight days.
