Eddy Bouwmans

Eddy Bouwmans (born January 30, 1968 in Aarle-Rixtel ) is a former Dutch cyclist .

Athletic career

In 1989 Eddy Bouwmans had his first success as an amateur racing driver: after a solo ride over 50 kilometers, he won the Ardense Pijl in Grand-Rechain, Belgium . In the 1989 GDR tour , he finished second in the overall ranking. The following year he was voted Young Cyclist of the Year in the Netherlands .

From 1990 to 1997 Bouwmans was under contract with various racing teams. In 1992 he achieved the greatest success of his career when he won the junior ranking at the Tour de France and finished 14th in the overall ranking of the Tour.

In 2013 Bouwmans reported in an interview that he had doped three times with Epo in 1994 as well as with testosterone and cortisone .

After finishing his cycling career, Bouwmans, a trained carpenter , opened an interior fitting company in Beek en Donk .
