aims

This code of ethics stated that drivers should be excluded from races if doping is suspected. All team members must sign this UCI declaration. In addition, none of the drivers in these teams have the “autorisation de médicaments à des fins thérapeutiques” (“authorization to use these drugs therapeutically”) for corticoid injections. This UCI regulation allows drivers to use drugs on the doping list if they have a medical certificate for this. Accordingly, the teams do not allow any of their athletes special regulations. A violation by a driver should be charged with a two-week ban.

In the course of the doping affair surrounding Lance Armstrong , the MPCC decided at the end of 2012 to take further measures to which the participating teams submit: The teams are not allowed to allow a driver with a positive doping test to start a race. Drivers who have been suspended from doping for more than six months, with the exception of one for reporting violations, may not be obliged to do so. After a corticoid injection, a driver may not participate in a race for eight days. From the first positive doping test in a team, the internal processes of the team must be checked. The team must suspend itself within twelve months after several positive doping cases.

In the aftermath of the Armstrong affair, the association of cycling organizers AIOCC decided at the end of 2012 to give the MPCC members priority in the award of wildcards for their races.
