Zoumalou

Zoumalou ( Chinese  走馬 樓 ) is an archaeological site near the city of Changsha in the Chinese province of Hunan .

There, in December 1996, the writing tablets made of bamboo and wood from the Wu Empire of the Three Kingdoms from Zoumalou ( Chinese  走馬 樓 三國 吳 簡 , Pinyin Zoumalou Sanguo Wu jian ) were discovered. This exceedingly great and precious treasure of 170,000 Schreibtäfelchen was as official documents of the circle Changsha during the reign of Emperor Sun Quan of the Wu kingdom in the Three Kingdoms period confirmed (196-265).

The find provides important historical materials for research into the history and systems of politics, economics and land taxes as well as social and class relationships during the Three Kingdoms and the Jin Dynasty (265–420).
