The 20th stage of the Tour de France 2017 took place on July 22, 2017. The individual time trial in Marseille with start and finish at the Stade Vélodrome led over 22.5 kilometers. The route was completely flat except for a 1.2 kilometer long and 9.5 percent steep incline to the Notre-Dame de la Garde church . Points for the mountain classification were not awarded on the ascent.

The stage winner was Maciej Bodnar with a second lead over Michał Kwiatkowski , who was still ahead in both intermediate times. Chris Froome defended his yellow jersey as third of the day, six seconds behind . Rigoberto Urán finished eighth, 31 seconds behind, and took second place in the overall standings from Romain Bardet , who lost 2:03 minutes in 52nd in the time trial.
