Maciej Bodnar (born March 7, 1985 in Oława ) is a Polish cyclist .
Career
Maciej Bodnar began his international career in 2005 with the Continental Team Moser-AH-Trentino , where he drove for one season. In the 2006 season he was the Polish time trial champion of the U23 class and took part in the road cycling world championships in Salzburg in autumn . In the U23 time trial he finished 45th and in the road race he finished 84th. In 2007 Bodnar defended his national time trial title. He also won the Bradlo Grand Prix a little later . He then became a stagiaire at Liquigas , where he got a professional contract at the end of the year.
In the three days of De Panne , Bodnar won the final time trial in 2014 and 2016 . At the UCI WorldTour Race Poland Tour 2015 he won the sprint of a three-man breakaway group on the fourth stage. At the 2016 Olympic Games he finished sixth in the time trial, and at the World Championships he missed bronze by six seconds in the individual time trial.
In 2017 Maciej Bodnar won silver at the European Championships , two seconds behind Victor Campenaerts . After being put on the 11th stage of the Tour de France 2017 after a breakaway attempt 300 meters from the finish, Bodnar won the individual time trial of the 20th stage around Marseille .
Up to and including 2020, Bodnar was Polish champion in the individual time trial six times .
Honors
In 2014 Bodnar was awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland .
