Tadeusz Mytnik (born August 13, 1949 in Nowice , Poland) is a former Polish road cyclist .

Athletic career

Tadeusz Mytnik was an amateur cyclist from 1971 to 1982 . During these years he was one of the best Polish road drivers.

1973 Mytnik became world champions in team time trial in Barcelona together with Lucjan Lis (father of the German racing cyclist Lucas Liß ), Ryszard Szurkowski and Stanisław Szozda . Two years later he won the world title in Belgium again with Mieczysław Nowicki , Szurkowski and Szozda . The highlight of his career was the silver medal in the team time trial at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal , together with Nowicki, Szurkowski and Szozda.

Mytnik has been the Polish time trial champion seven times. In addition, there were two more titles in the pair time trial and the title in the single pursuit on the track in 1973. He also started six times in the International Peace Trial , in which he won three stages, all in the individual time trial. He was also successful in the domestic Tour of Poland , which he won in 1975 and in which he won a total of six stages. In 1982 he became national time trial champion for the seventh time, after which he ended his active cycling career.

Honors

In 2010, Mytnik was awarded the Order of Polonia Restituta with the rank of officer.
