Pietro Guerra (born June 28, 1943 in San Pietro di Morubio , Veneto ) is a former Italian cyclist . He was a professional from 1967 to 1974.
Athletic career
In 1964, Guerra won the 100 km team time trial with the Italian team at the World Championships in the French Alps . In the same year, Guerra won the silver medal in the 100 km team time trial with the same team at the Olympic Games in Tokyo . In 1965, in addition to the victories at Gran Premio Agostano and the Coppa Collecchionoch, he was able to repeat his world title in the 100 km team time trial and came third at the Gran Premio Città di Camaiore .
After his two stage successes, stage 2 and 10, at the Peace Race in 1966 and at the Gran Premio Industria del Cuoio e delle Pelli , Guerra again won the bronze medal in the 100 km team time trial at the UCI Road World Championships in 1966 . He then began his professional career with the Italian cycling team Salamini . In 1967 he won the first stage of the Giro di Sardegna and was second in the overall standings. In 1968 he moved to the Salvarani team and stayed there for four years. During this time his two national titles fell in the individual pursuit in 1971 and 1972. In 1973 he moved to the Italian team Bianchi-Campagnolo . At the end of the 1974 season he ended his career.
