Michele Scartezzini (born January 10, 1992 in Isola della Scala ) is an Italian cyclist who is active on track and road .

Athletic career

In 2009, Michele Scartezzini and Nicolò Rocchi became vice European junior champion in two-man team driving . The following year he won the title of Junior European Champion in the points race , in the scratch he won silver. Since 2011 he started regularly for the Italian team at UCI track world championships in the team pursuit.

In 2016 Scartezzini was nominated for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and finished sixth in the team pursuit together with Simone Consonni , Filippo Ganna and Francesco Lamon . The following year he mainly competed on the road for the Sangemini-MG.Kvis team , but could not achieve any outstanding successes. Scartezzini became vice world champion in scratch at the UCI track world championships 2018 in Apeldoorn . Together with Filippo Ganna, Francesco Lamon and Elia Viviani , he won the team pursuit title at the UEC European Rail Championships in Glasgow in 2018 . The following year, at the European Championships in Apeldoorn, he was able to repeat this success with Ganna, Lamon, Davide Plebani and Simone Consonni
