Liam Bertazzo (born February 17, 1992 in Este ) is an Italian cyclist who is mainly active on the track .
Athletic career
In 2007 Liam Bertazzo was Italian vice-champion in the youth class in the team pursuit . In 2010 he finished second at the European Track Championships with the Italian junior four-man from Filippo Ranzi , Michele Scartezzini and Paolo Simion , and the following year he and his brother Omar finished third in the Italian championship in two-man team driving . In 2012 and 2013 he increasingly competed successfully in road races and in 2012 again came third in the European Championship in team pursuit (with Ignazio Moser , Scartezzini and Simion), this time in the elite class.
2013 Bertazzo won at the track European Championships with Elia Viviani the title in a two-team race, the following year, he finished in the European Championship second place in the points race . At the national track championships of the same year he was second in the points race and third in the single pursuit .
In 2016 Liam Bertazzo was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he finished sixth in the team pursuit with Simone Consonni , Filippo Ganna and Francesco Lamon . At the UCI Track World Championships 2017 and the 2018 World Cup , he was one of the Italian track four to win the bronze medal. Also in 2018 he became European champion in the team pursuit together with Elia Viviani , Lamon and Ganna .
