Corentin Ermenault (born January 27, 1996 ) is a French cyclist.
Athletic career
Corentin Ermenault is the son of the former two-time world and Olympic champion Philippe Ermenault . He played football enthusiastically from the age of four until he finally turned to cycling as a teenager.
In 2013 Ermenault achieved his first international successes when he won a complete set of medals at the Junior European Railway Championships: gold in the two-man team driving with Jordan Levasseur , silver with Valentin Madouas , Jordan Levasseur and Clément Barbeau in the team pursuit , bronze in the single pursuit . In the individual time trial on the road , he finished fourth. In the following year he became junior European champion in the points trial and national junior champion in the individual time trial .
In 2016, Corentin Ermenault was first together with Thomas Denis , Florian Maître and Benjamin Thomas U23 European champion in the team pursuit after he broke his elbow in a road race in May and was out for several weeks. Later that year he was two-time European elite champion, in the singles and again in the team pursuit (with Valentin Madouas, Jordan Levasseur and Clément Barbeau).
In November 2016 it was announced that Ermenault had signed his first contract with the British team Wiggins . Bradley Wiggins praised the young Frenchman as a "great talent".
