Jonathan Dibben (born February 12, 1994 in Southampton ) is a British cyclist who is successful on track and road .

Athletic career

At the 2011 UEC European Track Championships for Juniors, Jon Dibben won two gold medals, in the singles and in the team pursuit (with Owain Doull , Joshua Papworth and Samuel Lowe). In the junior edition of the cobblestone race Paris – Roubaix , he finished fourth. The following year he was junior runner- up in the Omnium . At the European Railway Championships for Juniors in 2012 he won bronze in the Omnium and in the single pursuit. Also in 2012 he was two-time British runner-up in the single pursuit and in the scratch .

In 2014 he won a stage of the Triptyque des Monts et Châteaux and thus achieved his first international road success, in 2016 he repeated this stage success.

In 2014 Dibben became European team pursuit champion together with Ed Clancy , Andrew Tennant and Owain Doull . The following year he won the European title in the team pursuit again (with Owain Doull, Andrew Tennant and Bradley Wiggins ) and a second title in the Omnium. In 2016 he became world champion in points race in London . In 2017 Dibben won a stage of the California Tour and was involved in the victory of Team Sky in the overall standings of the Hammer Sportzone Limburg and in the team victories at the Settimana Internazionale in 2018 .

In 2019 Dibben's contract with Team Sky was not renewed and he started for the UCI Continental Team Madison Genesis in May . For 2020 he received a contract with the UCI WorldTeam Lotto Soudal . Dibben referred to this as his "second" chance.
