Louis Pijourlet (born October 17, 1995 in Grenoble ) is a French cyclist who is active on track and road .

Athletic career

Louis Pijourlet's father, Thiery, was a well-known local cyclist, his brother Jules was an international cyclist until 2015.

In 2002, Pijourlet took sixth place among the juniors at the Chrono des Nations . In 2014 he became French vice-champion in the elite points race and won two disciplines in a C1 race at the Vélodrome National , the two-man team race together with his brother Jules. The following year he was third at the Chrono des Nations in the U23 race.

At the 2016/17 Track World Cup in Apeldoorn, Pijourlet finished third together with Benjamin Thomas , Morgan Kneisky and Adrien Garel , also at the 2017/18 World Cup in Manchester, this time with Thomas, Florian Maitre and Thomas Denis .

In October 2017, Pijourlet became European team pursuit champions at the European Railway Championships in Berlin together with Corentin Ermenault , Florian Maitre, Benjamin Thomas and Thomas Denis.

Private

In addition to his cycling career, Louis Pijourlet is studying psychology ; his mother is a psychologist by profession. In an interview in September 2017, he stated that his long-term goal was to combine sports and psychology. Sports psychology is a discipline that is still in its infancy in France.
