Florian Maitre (born September 3, 1996 in Meudon ) is a French cyclist .

Athletic career

Florian Maitre comes from a cycling family; Both his father and grandfather ride a bike. His great-great-uncle was Maurice Perrin , who won the gold medal in the tandem race with Louis Chaillot at the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles .

Maitre grew up in Clamart and started cycling there at the age of seven. In 2014 he became a two-time French junior champion on the track, in the points race and in the team pursuit . In 2016 he won two titles as European champion: in the Elie and in the U23 . At the U23 European Championships, he also won silver with Benjamin Thomas in a two-man team . He also won various national road races.

In 2017 Florian Maitre became a two-time French champion, in the points race and in the team pursuit. At the European Railway Championships in Berlin in the same year he won two titles: in the team pursuit with Thomas Denis , Corentin Ermenault , Louis Pijourlet and Benjamin Thomas and together with Thomas in a two-man team.
