Robbe Ghys (born January 11, 1997 in Hasselt ) is a Belgian cyclist who competes in races on track and road .
Athletic career
In 2012 Robbe Ghys won his first national title when he became a two-time youth champion, in the singles and in the team pursuit . The following year he was six-time Belgian youth champion on the track. From 2014 Ghys started with the juniors and as such won five Belgian championship titles straight away, also the following year. Also in 2015, Ghys and Gerben Thijssen won the silver medal in the two-man team at the Junior European Championships .
In 2016, Ghys and Kenny De Ketele won the two-man team event, which was held as part of the Track Cycling World Cup in Apeldoorn . In 2017 he took fourth place in the U23 event in Paris-Roubaix . In the same year he was with Lindsay De Vylder U23 European champion in two-man team driving ; in the team pursuit, the Belgian team with Ghys finished second. In 2018 he and Kenny De Ketele became European champion in the two-man team driving of the elite. On the road, he won a stage and the junior classification of the Irish race An Post Rás .
