Edwin Alcibiades Ávila Vanegas (born November 21, 1989 in Cali ) is a Colombian racing cyclist . He is two-time track world champion in the points race .
Athletic career
In 2005 Edwin Ávila was second in the Colombian youth championship in points driving, in 2007 he was third in the Junior World Championship in two-man team driving in Aguascalientes , together with Jaime Ramírez . In 2011, Ávila won the world championship title in the points race at the World Track Championships in Apeldoorn . At the UCI Track World Championships in 2014 in his birthplace Cali, he was able to win this title a second time. In 2016 he became the Colombian road racing champion . In 2017 he won bronze in points races at the Pan American teams and in the two-man team race with Jordan Parra . In 2019 he won the Volta Cova da Beira .
