José Daniel Rincón Quintana (born December 4, 1975 in Duitama ) is a former Colombian road cyclist .

Athletic career

Daniel Rincón began his career in 1997 with the Colombian cycling team Lotería de Boyaca . From the 2001 season he drove for the 05 Orbitel team . In his first year there he was Colombian road racing champion and he won the overall classification of the Clásica Alcaldía de Pasca. In 2002 he was overall first of the Clásica de Fusagasugá, Pan-American road racing champion and he won the third stage of the Clásico RCN . The next year he was successful in a section of the Vuelta a Colombia , as well as in 2005. In 2004 he drove a season for US Postal Service-Berry Floor . In the 2006 season, Rincón won the team time trial at the Vuelta a Colombia and the first stage at the Clásica Club Deportivo Boyacá. A year later he won two stages at the Vuelta a Cundinamarca with the Colombia es Pasión team and was able to win the overall standings. He was also the overall first at the Clásica Club Deportivo Boyacá and he won the first stage of the Vuelta a Boyacà. In 2008 he won a stage and the overall ranking at the Clásica Club Deportivo Boyacá and at the Clásica Nacional Marco Fidel Suárez. He was also successful in sections of the Clásica de Guarné and the Vuelta a Boyacà. In the 2009 season he was able to win the prologue and the overall classification of the Clásica Alcaldía de Pasca, as well as a stage of the Vuelta a Cundinamarca.

Daniel Rincón is a younger brother of Oliviero Rincón , who was a professional from 1990 to 1998 and won stages in the Tour de France , the Vuelta a España and the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré , among others .
