Óscar Álvarez

Óscar Mauricio Álvarez Paniagua (born December 9, 1977 in San Cristobal ) is a Colombian road cyclist.

Óscar Mauricio Álvarez began his career in 2001 with the Colombian team 05 Orbitel . In the 2003 season he won a stage at the Vuelta al Tolima and at the Vuelta a Colombia . The next year he was first overall at the Clásica Nacional Marco Fidel Suárez. He also won two stages in the Vuelta a El Salvador and was third overall. In 2006 Álvarez rode for the Caico Cycling Team , where he won the seventh stage of the Vuelta a Chiriqui. The next year he moved to the Continental Team UNE-Orbitel . In the 2009 season Álvarez was in Barranquilla Colombian road race champion.
