Vuelta a Guatemala

The Vuelta a Guatemala (German Guatemala Tour ) is a Guatemalan road bike race.

The race was held for the first time in 1957 and has been held every autumn since then. The organizer is the Federacion Nacional de Ciclismo de Guatemala, the Guatemalan cycling association. The stage race has been part of the UCI America Tour since 2005 and is classified in category 2.2. Record winners are Aureliano Cuque , José Patrocinio Jiménez , Edin Roberto Nova and Roman Villalobos , who each won the race twice.

The winner of the 2004 event, Lizandro Ajcú , was subsequently disqualified for doping. It was the biggest doping case in the history of the race. Nine drivers tested positive, including the top four in the overall standings. The 2009 winner, Nery Velásquez , also tested positive and was disqualified.
