Juan Carlos Rojas

Juan Carlos Rojas Villegas (born December 22, 1981 ) is a Costa Rican cyclist .

Rojas began his career in 2005 with the Costa Rican team Pasoca-Dos Pinos . At the end of the year he won the Vuelta a Costa Rica country tour . In 2006 he was successful on two parts of the Vuelta a Guatemala and was able to win the overall ranking. At the Costa Rica Tour a month later, he finished third overall. In 2007 he passed a positive doping test at the Vuelta a El Salvador and was banned for two years.

After his doping ban he won the overall ranking of the Vuelta a Guatemala in 2009 and also two stages. In addition, there was a stage win on his home tour in Costa Rica . In the following year he won five stages of the Vuelta a Costa Rica and thus secured the overall victory. In 2013 Rojas again won the overall victory at the Vuelta a Costa Rica . He also won five stages there. In 2014 he was road champion in Costa Rica for the second time . He also won the overall ranking of the Vuelta a Costa Rica and two stage wins.

Rojas also won the individual classification of the UCI America Tour 2014.

In 2015 he was again the winner of the Vuelta a Costa Rica .
