The 50th Vuelta a Costa Rica (officially: Vuelta Kölbi a Costa Rica ) took place from December 14th to 25th, 2014 in Costa Rica .

The bike race was part of the UCI America Tour 2014 , where it was classified in category 2.2 . The first eight drivers in the overall standings and the first three of each stage as well as those wearing the yellow jersey of the overall leader received points for the America ranking list after each stage.

Juan Carlos Rojas (Frijoles Los Tierniticos-Arroz Halcón) won the stage race for the fourth time in his career , defending his previous year's title and remaining the sole record winner of the race. Juan Carlos, who was also able to win the points classification, distanced himself from his teammate and brother César , with whom he reached the finish line as a duo over all three parts of the day, ahead of all competitors. While César Rojas won the mountain classification, Josué González (Coopenae Movistar Economy), another local, took third place on the podium in the overall classification. The sprint classification went to the Cuban Arnold Alcolea , the JPS-Giant team was ahead in the team classification and provided the best U-23 driver with Joseph Chavarría .

Attendees

Eight local Costa Rican teams and six foreign teams, including four national selections, competed. With 4-72-Colombia and Buenos Aires Provincia , two Continental teams also took part in the race. German speaking drivers were not there.
