Ryōta Morioka ( Japanese 森岡 亮 太 , Morioka Ryōta ; born April 12, 1991 in Jōyō , Kyoto Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player who currently plays for Sporting Charleroi .

societies

At the end of his school days, Morioka played for the Kumiyama High School team. In 2010 he moved to Vissel Kobe , where he received his first professional contract. He also remained loyal to the club when it was relegated from the J1 League , the highest Japanese league, at the end of the 2012 season. In the following season , the club rose again from the J2 League with thirteen points ahead of 3rd place.

After six years, Morioka left the club in January 2016 and moved to Europe to the Polish club Śląsk Wrocław , which plays in the Ekstraklasa , the highest Polish league.

For the 2017/18 season he then moved to Belgium to join the Waasland-Beveren division . There he received a contract with a term of three years. His move was the most expensive transfer from Waasland-Beveren at the time. During his time at Waasland-Beveren, Morioka played in all sorts of league games, usually for the full duration.

After only six months he moved on to RSC Anderlecht , where he signed a contract until June 2021. In his first half year with Anderlecht he was again on the field in all possible league games and again mostly for the full length. It was different in the 2018/19 season : Here he was mostly not part of the squad until the beginning of December 2018 and only had two league games.

In January 2019, a loan for the rest of the season was agreed with Sporting Charleroi , including a purchase option. It was expressly agreed that he would also be eligible to play in any play-off games against Anderlecht. (Otherwise, players on loan are not allowed to play against their club of origin in Belgium.) In the absence of a qualification for Charleroi for the championship play-off, such an encounter did not take place.

In Charleroi Morioka came back to more stakes. After his seventh game for Charleroi, the purchase option was activated automatically.

National team

In 2014, Morioka made his debut for the Japanese national soccer team . Morioka has played five friendlies so far. Since March 2018, he has not been part of the national team.
