The 49th Vuelta a Costa Rica (officially: Vuelta kölbi a Costa Rica ) took place from December 17th to 29th, 2013 in Costa Rica .

The bike race was part of the UCI America Tour 2014 , where it was classified in category 2.2 . The first eight drivers in the overall standings and the first three of each stage as well as those wearing the yellow jersey of the overall leader received points for the America ranking list after each stage.

The overall winner of the stage race was the local Juan Carlos Rojas (JPS-Giant) for the third time in his career . His second-placed team-mate Elias Vega , who won the U-23 classification, was almost fourteen minutes behind. This was the biggest advantage ever in an international stage race of the 2013 season. The podium was completed by another Costa Rican, namely Bryan Villalobos (Agricenter Coronado Hotel Los Lagos). With his success, Rojas is now the sole record winner of the tour. In addition to the overall classification, the points and mountains classification also went to the Costa Rican.
