Constant Tourné

Constant "Stan" Tourné (born December 30, 1955 in Willebroek ) is a former Belgian cyclist .

Constant Tourné was the first world champion in points race for amateurs in 1977 and the professionals in 1980, as which he was active from 1978 to 1994. He took third place in the standing competition at the UCI track world championships in 1984 and in 1982 second place at the world championships in the derny race .

In the standing competition of the UCI Track World Championships in 1988 , he initially took second place, but was disqualified for doping . From 1987 to 1988 and 1991 he was European champion in the derny race. In 1981 Tourné was Belgian champion in the omnium , in 1982 in the single pursuit and in 1985, 1986, 1988 and 1991 in the standing race.

Tourné started in 176 six-day races, seven of which he won, five with his most frequent partner and compatriot Etienne De Wilde , one with René Pijnen and one with Jens Veggerby .
