Jelena Kolomina (born January 24, 1981 in Ridder ) is a Kazakh cross-country skier .

Career

Kolomina has been participating in competitions organized by the Fédération Internationale de Ski since 1998 . She ran her first World Cup race in December 2000 in Santa Caterina , which she finished in 42nd place in the 10 km freestyle. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2001 in Lahti , she finished 38th in the 10 km skiathlon , 37th place over 15 km classic and 21st place in the sprint. Her best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2003 in Val di Fiemme were 26th place over 30 km freestyle and fourth place with the relay. In January 2005 she won bronze in the sprint at the Winter Universiade . She got her first World Cup points in February 2005 in Reit im Winkl with the 25th place over 10 km freestyle. At the following Nordic World Ski Championships in 2005 in Oberstdorf , 26th place over 10 km freestyle and seventh place with the relay were their best results. In December 2005 she achieved her first top ten placement in the World Cup with seventh place in the 15 km mass start race in Canmore . This is also her best result in a World Cup race so far. Her best results in her first Olympic participation in Turin in 2006 were 19th place in the 30 km mass start race and ninth place in the team sprint. The first Tour de Ski 2006/07 she finished 31st in the overall ranking. At the 2007 Winter Universiade in Pragelato , she won silver in the sprint. Two weeks later she took silver again in the sprint, this time at the 2007 Asian Winter Games . Her best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo were 26th place over 10 km freestyle and fifth place together with Oxana Jatskaja in the team sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 , she achieved 25th place in the 15 km skiathlon and tenth place with the relay. The Tour de Ski 2009/10 she finished in 18th place. She came second in the 10 km mass start stage. Her best placings at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver were 27th place over 10 km freestyle and ninth place with the relay. At the domestic Winter Asian Games in 2011 , she won silver in the sprint and 15 km mass start race. She won gold with the relay and together with Oxana Jatskaja in the team sprint. Her best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo were 20th place over 10 km classic and 11th place with the relay. The Tour de Ski 2011/12 and 2012/13 she finished in 26th and 36th place in the overall standings. In January 2012 she became Kazakh champion in skiathlon and sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme , she came in 58th place over 10 km freestyle, 53rd place in the skiathlon and 15th place with the relay. Her best results at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi were 36th place over 10 km classic and 16th place together with Anastasia Slonowa in the team sprint. Her best placements at the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun were 37th in the 30 km mass start race and 12th in the team sprint. At the Winter Asian Games 2017 in Sapporo, she won the bronze medal over 10 km freestyle and the silver medal in the sprint and over 5 km classic. Her best placement at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang was 33rd in the 30K mass start race. In March 2018 she became the Kazakh champion over 30 km classic in Shchuchinsk .
