Shchuchinsk ( Kazakh and Russian Щучинск ) is a city in Kazakhstan .
history
Shchuchinsk was founded in 1850 as a settlement Shchuchye ( посёлок Щучье ). In 1939 the place was granted city rights.
Geographical location
The city is located 75 km southeast of the city of Kokshetau in the Aqmola area on Lake Shchuchye . Shchuchinsk is also the administrative seat of the Burabai district .

The A1 trunk road runs near Shchuchinsk and begins in the Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan and leads north to Petropavl .
Sports
With the National Ski Center, Shchuchinsk has owned the most modern ski jumping facility in Kazakhstan since 2018. It consists of a normal hill HS 99 and a large hill HS 140 as well as three further junior hills.
