Makinsk ( Kazakh and Russian Макинск ) is a city in northern Kazakhstan .
Geographical location
The city is located in the Aqmola area about 190 km northwest of the capital Nur-Sultan .
history
Makinsk was first mentioned in 1928 as a railway station called "Makinka" on the Nur-Sultan - Kökschetau railway line . The city has only had city status since the end of the Great Patriotic War in 1945.
