Atbassar ( Kazakh and Russian Атбасар , scientific transliteration Atbasar ) is a city in Kazakhstan . It is the center of the Atbassar district of the Aqmola region .
Geographical location
The city is located in the Aqmola area in central northern Kazakhstan.
history
The city was founded in 1846 as the Cossack Stanitsa Atbassarskaja (Атбасарская). In 1892 the city was given its current name and city rights.

The city includes 8 schools in which an intermediate school leaving certificate can be achieved. In addition, on October 2, 2000, a branch of the Kazakh Agricultural Technical University with the faculties of energy and technology was opened.
