Trevor Marsicano (born April 5, 1989 in Ballston Spa , New York ) is an American speed skater and inline speed skater .

Career

Marsicano had his first international success at the Junior World Championships 2007 in Innsbruck . There he won bronze in the little four-way fight. At the 2007 Individual Distance World Championships in Salt Lake City , he finished eighth in the team pursuit. In the World Cup he made his debut at the beginning of the 2007/08 season in Salt Lake City and took third place over 1500 m in Division B and second place over 1000 m in Division B. At the all-around world championship in 2008 in Berlin , he achieved 20th place. Place in the great four-way battle. In February 2008 he won the bronze medal in all- around at the Junior World Championships in Changchun . In the following month he came in the single distance world championships in Nagano on the 15th place over 5000 m and on the ninth place over 1500 m. At the beginning of the following season he reached his first podium in the World Cup with third place in the team pursuit in Heerenveen . In the further course of the season he came twice in second place and once in third place over 1500 m. Over 1000 m he finished second at the World Cup in Salt Lake City. In March 2009 he won bronze in the team pursuit and over 5000 m, silver over 1500 m and gold over 1000 m at the individual distance world championships in Richmond . He finished the season in eighth place in the overall world cup over 5000/10000 m and second place in the overall world cup over 1500 m. In the 2009/10 season he won his first World Cup victory in the team pursuit in Heerenveen. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , he won the silver medal in the team pursuit. His best individual placement was 10th over 1000 m. In March 2010 he was sixth at the all- around world championship in Heerenveen. Furthermore, in 2010 he was the US American champion over 5000 m.

In the 2010/11 season he won four World Cup wins, twice in the team pursuit and twice over 1500 m. In addition, he took second place over 1500 m at the World Cup in Berlin and at the end of the season he reached fifth place in the overall World Cup over 1500 m. At the 2011 individual distance world championships in Inzell , he won gold in the team pursuit. He achieved 12th place over 1000 m and seventh place over 1500 m. In the following years he mostly achieved placements outside the top ten in the individual races in the World Cup. In the 2013/14 season he finished second in the team pursuit at the World Cup in Calgary .
