Ådne Søndrål (born May 10, 1971 in Notodden ) is a former Norwegian speed skater .
He was one of the best 1,500 meter runners in the 1990s. He won the silver medal at the 1992 Olympics and finished fourth at the Games in his homeland, Norway . In 1998 in Nagano he won the gold medal with a new world record . He was also a favorite in the 1000 meters, but was unable to take part in the race due to illness. After this success, Søndrål was honored with the Oscar Mathisen Memorial Trophy and the Fearnleys olympiske ærespris .
In 2002 in Salt Lake City , at the end of his career, he won the bronze medal in the 1500 meters again.
Søndrål is an athlete ambassador for the development aid organization Right to Play .
