Mark Jan Hendrik Tuitert (born April 4, 1980 in Holten ) is a Dutch speed skater .

In 2004 he became European champion at the all-around European championship . At the 2005 World Championships in Inzell , he became world champion in pursuit together with heirs Wennemars and Carl Verheijen . A year later at the Olympic Winter Games in Turin , he won the bronze medal in the pursuit. At the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver , he celebrated his greatest success to date with a victory over 1500 meters in 1: 45.57 with a lead of 53 hundredths over Shani Davis and 56 hundredths over Havard Bökko.

In 2010, he was voted Sportsman of the Year in the Netherlands .
