Bart Veldkamp (born November 22, 1967 in The Hague ) is a former Dutch and Belgian speed skater .

At the 1992 Olympic Games in Albertville he won the gold medal and at the 1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer the bronze medal over 10,000 meters, at that time still starting for the Netherlands. Since he did not agree with the qualification mode in the strong Dutch team for the Olympic Games in Lillehammer, he changed associations and then started for Belgium. In Belgium itself there were no world-class speed skaters, so he no longer had any problems qualifying.

At the 1998 Olympic Games in Nagano , he won bronze over 5000 meters for Belgium. In 2002 and 2006 he also started at the Olympic Games, but could not place near the podium in each case. In 2006 he ended his career.

Veldkamp is an athlete ambassador for the development aid organization Right to Play .
