Pieter "Piet" Kleine (born September 17, 1951 in Hollandscheveld / municipality of Hoogeveen ) is a former Dutch speed skater .

At the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck , Kleine became Olympic champion over 10,000 meters and won silver over 5000 meters. Four years later at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid , he again won the silver medal over 10,000 meters.

In his most successful year, 1976, Kleine also became world champion in the all- around competition and set four world records. He was voted Dutch Sportsman of the Year in 1976 .

He ended his ice skating career in 2001 and devoted himself to his profession as a postman, a job he had pursued throughout his sports career.
