Boris Andrianowitsch Stenin ( Russian Борис Андрианович Стенин , born January 17, 1935 in Arti , † January 18, 2001 in Moscow ) was a Russian speed skater who started for the Soviet Union .
Stenin was all- around world champion in Davos in 1960 . In the same year he won the silver medal at the European all- around championship and the bronze medal over 1500 meters at the 1960 Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley . He was then awarded the Oscar Mathisen Memorial Trophy .
Stenin was married to the world speed skating champion Walentina Stenina . He later worked as a trainer, sports scientist and official at ISU .
