Edvard Engelsaas (born November 17, 1872 in Trondheim , † August 3, 1902 ) was a Norwegian speed skater .
Engelsaas became world champion in the all-around competition in Kristiania in 1900 . He won over 1500 meters, 5000 meters and 10000 meters. At that time it was necessary to win three out of four distances to become world champion. The defending champion Peder Østlund had the shortest distance, won 500 meters, but gave up after losing to Engelsaas over 5000 meters.
Engelsaas died of heart disease at the age of 29.
