Bernt Sverre Evensen (born April 8, 1905 in Kristiania (now Oslo ), † August 24, 1979 there ) was a Norwegian speed skater .

Evensen won the 1927 all-around world championship in Tampere , where he was able to defeat Clas Thunberg , as well as the European championships in Stockholm . In 1934 he won the all-around world championships in Helsinki for the second time.

At the Olympic Winter Games in St. Moritz in 1928 , Evensen won the gold medal over 500 meters (a victory shared with Clas Thunberg ). He also won silver over 1500 meters and bronze over 5000 meters. In the competition over 10,000 meters he was in second place when the competition was canceled because of the thawing ice. At the 1932 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid , he won the silver medal over 500 meters.
