Finn Helgesen (born April 25, 1919 in Drammen , Viken ; † September 3, 2011 in Lørenskog , Viken) was a Norwegian speed skater .
He became Olympic champion over 500 meters at the first Winter Olympics after World War II in St. Moritz in 1948 .
In 1952, in front of his home crowd in Oslo , he was placed in fifth place behind the bronze medalists Gordon Audley and Arne Johansen at the same time , as he was defeated by the Canadian Audley by a millimeter in a direct comparison.
