history

Dautzschen was first mentioned in a document in 1242. The place name changed in the course of history from Doutzin to Dawtzschen to Dautzschen.

The place was affected several times by major fires in 1579 and 1598. The church was destroyed in the Thirty Years War . On October 16, 1754, another fire broke out in the village, in which several houses were destroyed.

The place belonged to the Saxon office of Schweinitz until 1815 and then came to the Prussian province of Saxony. In 1974 the previously independent municipality was incorporated into Großtreben , became a district of Großtreben-Zwethau in 1994 and of Beilrode on January 1, 2011.
