Marie-Theres Hammes-Rosenstein

Marie-Theres Hammes-Rosenstein (born September 12, 1954 in Zettingen ; † January 13, 2019 ) was a German administrative lawyer and local politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1973 at the Koblenzer Gymnasium auf der Karthause , she studied law at the University of Mainz and graduated in 1981 with the second state examination. From 1982 she was the managing director and lawyer of the Mittelrhein Retail Association . From 1998 she worked as a lawyer in Koblenz with a focus on labor and social law . From 2003 she was also a women's officer at the University of Koblenz-Landau .

Hammes-Rosenstein was married and had two children.

Public offices

From April 1, 2007 to November 30, 2018 she was mayor and first full-time alderman of the city of Koblenz . She headed the department “Security, Order, Disaster Management, Social Affairs, Youth, Sport and Disposal” and was Deputy Mayor Eberhard Schulte-Wissermann , Joachim Hofmann-Göttig and David Langner . On November 30, 2018, she resigned from office for health reasons.
