National selection
In addition to the current times, there are restrictions on how many athletes per nation can start. The number depends on the performance of the previous season. In principle, one athlete is allowed to start per route. The organizing country has the maximum number of five starting places available on each route. For the mass run, three starters per nation are allowed.
