Antoinette de Jong (born April 6, 1995 in Heerenveen ) is a Dutch speed skater .

Career

De Jong ran for the first time in the World Cup at the beginning of the 2012/13 season in Heerenveen and finished seventh over 3000 m. At the Junior World Championships 2013 in Klobenstein she won the bronze medal in the 1000 m and 1500 m, the silver medal in the all-around event and the gold medal in the 3000 m. In the 2013/14 season she reached her first podium finish in Salt Lake City with third place over 3000 m. One day later she won her first World Cup victory in the team pursuit. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she was seventh over 3000 m. In March 2014 at the Junior World Championships in Bjugn she won silver over 1500 m and in the 2 × 500 m run and gold over 1000 m, over 3000 m and in all-around. She finished the season in eighth place in the overall standings over 3000 and 5000 m. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season she won her second World Cup victory in the team pursuit in Calgary . In the further course of the season she took second place in the team pursuit in Inzell and Heerenveen. At the European speed skating all-around championships in Minsk in 2016 , she won the bronze medal in the four -way battle . In the 2016/17 season she took two wins in the team pursuit and three second places, twice over 3000 m and once in the team pursuit. She reached third place in the World Cup over 3000/5000 m. In January 2016 she became the Dutch four-way champion. She won the bronze medal at the 2017 European all- around championships in Heerenveen and the bronze medal over 3000 m and the gold medal in the team pursuit at the 2017 World Individual Distance Championships in Gangwon . At the all- around world championship 2017 in Hamar and at the all- around world championship 2018 in Amsterdam she was fourth. In October 2017 she became the Dutch champion over 3000 m and 5000 m. After second place in the team pursuit and first place over 3000 m in Heerenveen at the beginning of the 2017/18 season, she achieved second place over 3000 m in Calgary and Erfurt and second place in the team pursuit and first place at the World Cup final in Minsk over 3000 m. She won the world cup over 3000/5000 m and finished seventh in the overall world cup and sixth in the world cup over 1500 m.
