The 112th all- around world championship (76th women) took place from March 9th to 11th, 2018 in Amsterdam , Netherlands . The competitions were held in the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam .
In the women’s category, Miho Takagi from Japan won . The German participants Claudia Pechstein and Gabriele Hirschbichler could not qualify for the final run over 5000 meters and finished 13th and 18th.
The Dutchman Patrick Roest was able to secure the men's title for the first time. Linus Heidegger from Austria came in 19th place, the German Moritz Geisreiter came in 22nd.

47 athletes, 23 women and 24 men, took part in the world championship. A total of 15 nations were represented.

In the all-around world championship, there are four distances each. The women run 500, 3000, 1500 and 5000 meters and the men 500, 5000, 1500 and 10,000 meters.
