Speed skating all around world championship 1992
The 50th all-around world championship for women was held on March 7th and 8th, 1992 in Thialf in Heerenveen , the Netherlands . Separately, the 86th Men's All- Around World Championship took place two weeks later, on March 21 and 22, 1992, on the Olympic Oval in Calgary , Canada . The two world championship titles went to the German Gunda Niemann and the Italian Roberto Sighel .

The German Gunda Niemann successfully defended her world championship title, first won in 1991, ahead of Emese Hunyady from Austria, who won her first World Championship medal. Seiko Hashimoto from Japan came in third .

Men
Roberto Sighel was the first Italian to become all- around world champion. Although he did not run the fastest time on any of the sections, he was classified among the top four and relegated the Dutchman Falko Zandstra and last year's winner Johann Olav Koss from Norway to second and third place.
