Sergei Sergejewitsch Trofimow ( Russian Сергей Сергеевич Трофимов ; * July 27, 1995 ) is a Russian speed skater .
Career
Trofimow started in Calgary for the first time in the World Cup in November 2015 and finished 14th in the 1500 m and seventh in the team pursuit. At the all- around European championships in 2016 in Minsk he came in 13th place and at the individual distance world championships in 2016 in Kolomna in tenth place over 1500 m. The following year he achieved 17th place over 1500 m at the individual distance world championships in Gangwon . In the 2017/18 season he finished tenth at the 2018 All Around World Championships in Amsterdam and took 18th place over 1500 m at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . In the 2018/19 season he won his first World Cup victory in the team pursuit in Obihiro and also took third place in the team pursuit in Tomaszów Mazowiecki . He also achieved eighth place in the overall World Cup over 5000 / 10,000 m with six top ten placements. At the all-around European championship 2019 in Klobenstein , he achieved fifth place in the great four-way battle . In February 2019 he won the bronze medal in the team pursuit at the individual distance world championships in Inzell . In addition, he came in 14th place over 1500 m and seventh place over 5000 m. At the beginning of March 2019 he finished 20th at the 2019 All Around World Championship in Calgary.
Trofimov was Russian champion in March 2017 in the four-way fight and in October 2018 in the team sprint.
