Nana Takagi ( Japanese 高木 菜 那 , Takagi Nana ; born July 2, 1992 in Makubetsu , Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese speed skater .

Career

Takagi achieved her first international successes at the Junior World Championships 2010 in Moscow and 2012 in Obihiro . She won the silver medal in the all-around competition. In October 2013 she became Japanese champion over 3000 m. She ran her first world cup in November 2013 in Calgary . There she finished tenth in the individual races over 3000 m and fourth place over 1500 m in Division B. In the team pursuit, she achieved her first podium finish with second place. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she came 32nd in the 1500 m and fourth in the team pursuit. At the World Cup final in Berlin she came back on the podium with third place in the team pursuit. At the beginning of the 2014/15 season, she was Japanese champion over 3000 m, 1500 m and four-way championship. At the first World Cup of the season in Obihiro, she finished second in the mass start and in the team pursuit. In the further course of the season she reached third place in the team pursuit at the World Cup in Berlin and second place in the mass start in Erfurt . At the 2015 World Speed ​​Skating Single Distance Championships in Heerenveen , she won the gold medal in the team pursuit. She finished the season in fourth place in the Mass Start World Cup. In the 2015/16 season she won her first World Cup in the team pursuit with two wins in Heerenveen and one win in Inzell . At the 2016 World Speed ​​Skating Individual Distance Championships in Kolomna , she was tenth over 5000 m and won the silver medal in the team pursuit. Also in the 2017/18 season she won three World Cup victories in the team pursuit. In Calgary she finished third in the mass start. At the highlight of the season, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she won the gold medal in the mass start and in the team pursuit. In the run over 5000 m she came in 12th place.

In the 2018/19 season, Takagi won three times in the team pursuit and twice in the mass start and thus achieved fifth place in the mass start World Cup. At the individual distance world championships in Inzell in 2019 , she won the gold medal in the team pursuit. In addition, she ran there on the 16th place over 3000 m, on the 15th place in the mass start and on the 13th place over 1500 m. At the beginning of March 2019 she came 11th at the all- around world championships in Calgary .
