Felix Rijhnen (born July 9, 1990 in Darmstadt ) is a German inline speed skater and speed skater .

Life

Born and raised in Darmstadt, he has been training with the Eis- und Rollschnelllauf Gemeinschaft eV Darmstadt since 1995 .

In 2006 he won two bronze medals at the European Junior Championships and was three times German Junior Champion. At the Junior World Championships he just missed a medal with fourth place.

In 2007 he started for the Powerslide-Phuzion team . He was able to win five German junior titles, and he was also German champion in the active over 5,000 m. At the European Junior Championship he was able to improve again compared to the previous year and won two silver and one bronze medal. Rijhnen finished fourth in the 1,000 m race at the Junior World Championships.

In 2017, as a member of the sports promotion group of the Hessian police, Rijhnen achieved his greatest sporting success to date and became world champion over 10,000 m (points race).

In 2018 he won the world championship title over the 42 km marathon distance at the World Championships in Arnhem (Netherlands).

In 2019, Rijhnen became the first male winner from Germany at the Berlin Marathon, the largest inline speed skating event in the world. At the same time, he secured victory in the overall World Cup (World Inline Cup) for the first time.

He is currently starting in the senior (active) class and is a member of the A-Bundeskaders. He is also a member of the Powerslide-Matter World Team .
