Weststellingwerf ( listen ^{? / I} ) is a municipality in the south of the province of Friesland ( Netherlands ). It had 25,877 inhabitants (as of January 31, 2019).

Weststellingwerf is with the municipality of Ooststellingwerf "de Stellingwerven ", where traditionally no Frisian is spoken, but Lower Saxon ( Stellingwerfs ).

André van de Nadort ( PvdA ) has been the acting mayor of the municipality since September 5, 2017 . His colleagues include the councilors Jack Jongebloed ( VVD ), Hanneke Zonderland ( CDA ), Mariska Rikkers-Oosterkamp (Weststellingwerfs Belang), Roelof Theun Hoen (VVD) and the municipal secretary Remco van Maurik.
