Regensburg marathon

The Regensburg Marathon is a marathon in Regensburg that was first run by the LLC Marathon Regensburg in 1990 and has been held annually since then, with the exception of 1994 and 2012 (since 1997 on the weekend after Ascension Day ). Start and finish are at the Westbad . In addition to the marathon, a half marathon is also offered, since 2008 a 10 km run , which was converted into a quarter marathon from 2013 .

The route is flat and fast. Medieval sights of Regensburg such as the Stone Bridge and the Gothic Ostentor from 1300 can be seen on the route.

In 2012 the event was canceled by the organizers for reasons of cost. In 2020, the cancellation was due to the COVID-19 pandemic .
