The Putzarer See is one in Anklam-Land , Vorpommern-Greifswald , Mecklenburg-Vorpommern situated lake. It is located southeast of the village of Putzar in the municipality of Boldekow in the nature reserve Putzarer See . It has a length of about 2.5 kilometers, a width of 980 m and an average depth of 0.4 meters.
The lake is a silting lake and has not had any significant above-ground inflow and outflow since the ditch was laid . Like all lakes in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , the lake was formed in the last ice age . The lake, which is surrounded by a wide, reed-up silting zone and in places by scrub forest, is under nature protection. Because of its shallow water depth and its function as a bird sanctuary, it is at times highly polytrophic . During the GDR era, the council of the Neubrandenburg district operated a nature conservation station.
