Romy Spitzmüller
Romy Spitzmüller (born September 19, 1981 in Leipzig ) is a German long-distance runner who specializes in marathons .
In 2002 she became German junior champion in the half marathon . In 2003 she defended this title and won the Essen marathon around the Baldeneysee in 2:34:57 h. In the following year she won the Bonn Marathon with the current course record of 2:32:33 h and was eighth in the Berlin Marathon . The following year she was second in Bonn. In 2006, despite a time of 2:36:46 h, she only came 14th in the Hamburg Marathon , and although she won the race around the Baldeneysee this year and the following , she did not come close to her time Bonn. In 2007 she took third place at the German half marathon championships.
The 1.64 m tall and 46 kg heavy athlete started for the SV Lindenau 1848 until 1995 , then until 2007 for the LAZ Leipzig . At the beginning of 2008 she switched to 1. LAV Rostock, where she is trained by Klaus-Peter Weippert, who also looks after Ulrike Maisch .
